  1. A small plane crashed and exploded in a residential neighborhood in the New Jersey suburbs of New York City on Tuesday morning, leaving its pilot dead and setting two houses on fire, the AP reports. The twin-engine Cessna 414 went down at 11am just several hundred yards from Claremont Avenue Elementary School in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township, the Federal Aviation Administration says. No one was in the home the plane crashed into, but flames spread to another house, where a woman escaped injury, Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac says. He does not believe anyone on the ground was injured.

  3. These eerie photos capture inside one of the UK's "most haunted " places - spooked by a dog, a hooded figure and an elderly man.

Balgonie Castle, near Glenrothes, northeast Scotland, has been ranked 17th in a list of the UK's "most haunted" sites in a new list.

Edinburgh Live says it is home to a number of spirits, which will throw up some unusual experiences - including the sound of mysterious voices, the sight of floating heads and the feeling that you are being watched.

The famous Green Lady ghost can apparently still be seen roaming around the building to this day, often walking past windows.

Stuart and Kelly Morris, who own the castle, even claim they've felt someone touch and breath on them.
